We are thrilled to announce that The Broadway Workshop will be coming to NYPAC on Monday February 16, 2015 for a four hour Musical Theatre Workshop, taught by Broadway professionals Marc Tumminelli and Rachelle Rak. Marc is the director and founder of The Broadway Workshop and has worked with children who are currently cast in Broadway shows. Rachelle is a seasoned Broadway actress and dancer who recently was a weekly judge and choreographer on Abby Lee's Ultimate Dance Competition.

The workshop will include the following

  • Improv/Acting Workshop 

  • Musical Theatre Audition Workshop 

  • Dance Workshop 

  • Staff, Parent, Performer Q & A session.

About the Broadway Professionals

Rachelle Rak is labeled a Triple Threat on Broadway for her immeasurable talent in dance, singing, and acting. Rachelle has had a huge impact on the Broadway Community.  A few of her impressive credits, include leading roles in: “Fosse”, “Sweet Charity”, “Flashdance”, “Chicago”, “A Chorus Line”, “Catch Me If You Can”,” Cats”,” Starlight Express”, “West Side Story”, “Smokey Joe’s Café”, ” Oklahoma!”, and “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”.Television Performances include: Jay Leno, The Rosie O’Donnell Show, The Better You, Regis and Kathie Lee, Late Night with David Letterman, Dance Moms,  an Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition. 

Marc Tumminelli is the founder and director of The Broadway Workshop. He has worked with young actors all over the United States. Marc’s students have appeared on Broadway in Matilda, Newsies, Shrek: The Musical, Kinky Boots, Mary Poppins,The Color Purple, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, Les Miserables, West Side Story, Ragtime, Bye Bye Birdie, The Addams Family, Finian’s Rainbow, War Horse, & The Lion King. As an actor, Marc has appeared as “Eugene” in Brighton Beach Memoirs, Biloxi Blues and Broadway Bound at theaters all over the US. Other regional and New York credits include: “Yonkers” in Gypsy staring Patti LuPone and directed by Lonny Price, Santaland Diaries, …Spelling Bee, Dames at Sea, Lost In Yonkers, Into The Woods, Torch Song Trilogy, Oklahoma!, Oliver!, Shenandoah, The Dresser, Big River, Rags, Crazy For You, Pirates of Penzance and the hit Off Broadway productions of The Snow Queen and Bring Back Birdie, as well as the all-star concerts of Children Of Eden, The Secret Garden and Pippin, the latter starring Rosie O’Donnell and Ben Vereen. Film/TV credits include: The Sopranos and A Beautiful Mind directed by Ron Howard.
